EdVenture shares a campus with the South Carolina State
Museum and is located in the heart of the Vista along the
beautiful Congaree River.
Here's how you'll find us:
- Traveling from West:: From I-26 East, continue toward
downtown Columbia on I-126.
Take the Huger Street exit. Continue eight blocks to the intersection of Gervais Street.
Turn right. The Entrance to EdVenture Children's Museum's parking lot is on
your immediate right.
- Traveling from East: From Highway 378/76, continue as name
changes to Garners Ferry Road. Name changes again to Devine Street. At
Dreher High School, bear right onto Millwood Drive. Turn left onto Gervais
Street, remaining on Highway 76. Continue 19 blocks past State
House to
museum parking lot on right.
- Traveling from North: From I-77 South, continue
toward Downtown Columbia on SC-277. SC-277 becomes
Bull Street. At State Hospital, turn right onto
Elmwood Avenue. Continue on Elmwood 10 blocks to
Huger Street Exit. Bear
left onto Huger Street. Continue eight blocks to intersection of Gervais
Street. Turn Right. Entrance to museum parking lot is on immediate
right.
- Traveling from South: From I-26 West, take exit 111B toward West
Columbia. Follow Highway 1 through West Columbia and across the Gervais
Street bridge to Columbia. Immediately after bridge, museum is on your
left. Turn left at next intersection onto Huger Street. Follow signs to
Huger Street entrance of museum parking lot.
General Information
Food and Drink -
NO OUTSIDE FOOD IS
ALLOWED IN THE MUSEUM. For your convenience, Domino's Pizza
and McDonald's are available for purchase daily in the Coke
Clubhouse from
11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday - Saturday. Ice cream treats and
vending machines also are available also. Food is not
allowed anywhere else in the museum. There are a variety of
parks for picnics and kid-friendly restaurants in the nearby Vista area.
For a listing of family-friendly establishments, inquire at
the Welcome Center.
Tickets - Admission is $6.95 for children and $8.95 for adults.
Children under the age of one are admitted free. EdVenture
accepts VISA, MasterCard, cash and checks. We also accept
reciprocal memberships from other ACM museums with an ACM
sticker. We apologize for
the inconvenience, but we no longer have an ATM in our
building.
Adult Supervision - Adult supervision is required for children under the age
of 16.
Leaving and Returning -Visitors may leave and return using their ticket
stubs/stickers on the same day of purchase.
Lost and Found -If you have lost or found a personal item, please stop by
our Welcome Center.
Coats -n- Stuff -Feel free to leave your jackets in our Coats-n-Stuff
room on the First Floor. While this room is safe, EdVenture
is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged items.
Parking- FREE parking is available in the lot adjacent to the
museum as well as in the nearby parking garage. Handicapped
parking is available directly in front of the entrance of
the main entrance.
Special Services - EdVenture strives to be accessible to all kinds of
visitors. That is why most of our exhibits meet and/or
exceed federal and ADA requirements for accessibility. Call

Stroller Parking -Stroller parking is available on the porch of My Backyard
gallery on the Second Floor.
Nursing -
A semi-private space is
available in the Early Learning Center on
the Second Floor.
Independent Exploration Guide -Available to
visitors interested in exploring our 350+ exhibits, this
guide is full of activities that engage children while
teaching the principles behind our
exhibits. Check one out at our Welcome Center.
Smoking and Gum Chewing - EdVenture is a smoke-free, gum-free facility.
