As you prepare for your field trip to EdVenture, review the following suggestions for teachers, students and chaperones:

For Teachers

We have school programs scheduled throughout the day, and many of them are back-to-back. Consequently, if you arrive late, we may not be able to offer you your program. If you are bringing a group of 15 or more, please pre-plan to divide your students into groups of 7 or less among the participating chaperones.

Teacher Previews: Teachers may visit the museum for a self-guided tour prior to their scheduled field trips on the first Tuesday and Thursday of each month between 3:30 and 5:00. Please call the Friday before to reserve your free space. Teachers only (no students). Please review the guidelines below with students and chaperones.

For Your Students — EdVenture Etiquette

Please remind your students to use inside voices and walking feet. Students must remain with chaperones at all times while visiting the museum. Please leave all backpacks and jackets on the bus. Please remember that gum, food, and drinks are not allowed on the exhibit floor.

For Chaperones

Adult supervision is needed to monitor and maintain good behavior and to help facilitate EdVenture’s hands-on learning experiences. Please remind chaperones to stay with their group at all times. Get involved! Interact with different exhibit components and encourage the children to do the same. Read the label copy out loud to your group. Watching you interact with an exhibit encourages and stimulates students to do the same.
