There are individuals and organizations across South Carolina who are making significant and outstanding contributions to strengthening and advancing the interests of our children.
EdVenture Children’s Museum has chosen to recognize these special people and organizations through the creation of the South Carolina Great Friend to Kids Award and the Unsung Hero Award. The recipient’s contributions should be a reflection of long-term, life-long dedication to working for and on behalf of the children of South Carolina.
The Unsung Hero Award is given to an individual, organization, or business who has worked quietly and tirelessly for the best interests of the children of South Carolina.
The purpose of the South Carolina Great Friend to Kids initiative is two-fold: to build public awareness and private support on the issues affecting children in South Carolina and to recognize those individuals and organizations who have made a remarkable impact and have dedicated themselves to improving the lives of children in South Carolina.
Funds raised through the South Carolina Great Friend to Kids Initiative will be used to directly impact children in communities across South Carolina through EdVenture’s efforts to achieve the vision of creating new generations of lifelong learners. EdVenture seeks to use the strength of its educational mission and the power of hands-on learning to raise the level of educational experiences for all children, with a particular focus on children living in less-advantaged environments and smaller communities across the state.
