One aspect of EdVenture’s guiding purpose is to address community issues that impact children and their families. One current conundrum is the health and wellness. It’s a large problem we’re hitting from different directions.
EdVenture operates a cooking and nutrition lab right in the museum. Working with the chef in residence, children and families can explore cooking and nutritional programming that paves the way to a healthier lifestyle.
Did you know South Carolina citizens are 32% more likely than the national average to experience a fire-related death? Our onsite exhibits and offsite outreach teaches children and families safety skills that help better prepare them for emergency situations that can arise.
While our Body Detectives exhibit helps visitors brush up on dental health, each February, during National Children’s Dental Health Month, we go the extra mile. Our annual, free Dental Health Fair provides free dental screenings, heart healthy snacks, and activities for children of all ages each February.
