In this kid-sized city, children learn to recognize and appreciate the diversity of jobs in South Carolina - including farmers, mechanics, firefighters, scientists and builders — and how each and every one supports the community.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
Do you want to be a farmer? Then climb aboard our real John Deere tractor and listen to the sounds of the farm as you plant your crops. When that’s done, you have to milk the cow, collect eggs from the barn and pick the peaches. In EdVenture’s Friendly Farm, children learn why farmers stay so busy with all the chores to be done!
Dalmatian Station
Do you want to be a firefighter? Then come to Dalmatian Station. Climb inside the cab of our real 24-foot fire truck and become the chief or engineer. See how long it takes you to put on your gear. Practice crawling through a dark tunnel to help you understand that sometimes, fire is dark! Of course, you don’t want to miss visiting “Home Safe Home,” South Carolina’s only 4-D theater that allows children and adults to experience an interactive, educational program on the ways you can make your house a safe place to live.
Learning by Living
Do you want to be a builder? A store manager? A politician? A designer? A mechanic? You can try all of these and much, much more in World of Work. Here, kids learn about many of the important aspects of life such as the use of money (called Eddie Bucks), the importance of hard work, and how everyone’s voice counts when they take the time to vote!
Building Boom will be temporarily closed for the addition of an exciting new activity from April 8-April 14.
