Columbia Available Spaces

The Canal Room is our most popular rental space. Located in the lower level of the museum, this rental option offers a large space for guests, access to plasma TV’s for presentations/ photo slideshows, private restrooms, a small prep/ service kitchen, as well as a private entrance.

CAPACITY: 50 (Limited due to COVID-19.)

COST: $100 per hour

Minimum of 3 hours required.

Setup and breakdown time are not included in your rental time. You must purchase the amount of time that you will need to setup, host, and breakdown your event.

Set-Up

Rental times do not include free setup or breakdown times. Your setup, event, and breakdown, must occur in your purchased rental time.

Tables and chairs are available upon request, depending upon availability.

*Large events are subject to an additional setup fee.

Deposits, Discounts, Cancellations, and Fees

All rentals require a 50% non-refundable deposit within 7 days of booking a reservation. The balance is due within 14 days of the event. All rental fees MUST be paid for before the date of your event. Rental fees DO NOT include cleaning, A/V, or security fees. Audio/visual equipment can be rented for an additional fee. *Large events are subject to an additional setup fee.

Cancellations must be done within 14 days of the event, in writing/email. Upon your cancellation you will be refunded any payment(s) toward the rental cost, excluding the deposit.

Discounted rates may be available for 501(c)3 organizations with proof of status.

FAQs

Who handles the catering?

EdVenture has an in-house caterer that must be used. We will provide you with their information.

Can Alcohol Be Served?

No.

How early can my event begin?

9am.

How long can my event last?

All rentals must book for a minimum of 3 hours. Events can begin as early as 9am and must end no later than 5pm.

Can I have a band or DJ at my event?

Yes, you can hire musical entertainment for your event. We are happy to provide helpful information and walk through proposed setups.

How early can I set up my event?

All events must be booked for the entire time that you need the space. If you need to setup for 1 hour before your event, you will need to reserve the space for that extra hour. After-hours events in general public spaces may begin to set up at the time of public closing. Rentals of public spaces may not interfere with public access, enjoyment or safety while setting up prior to museum closing.
