Tickets & Reopening Procedures

Same three museums you love! New ways to keep you safe.

Your health and safety are our top priorities. While we’ve been apart, our staff has been working hard to prepare to welcome you back. In collaboration with the EdVenture Health and Safety Advisory Committee, we have implemented new policies and procedures to ensure a safe visit for your family.

Here’s what you can expect from us at all three EdVenture locations:

  • Limited capacity: We have capped the number of tickets available each day to ensure plenty of space for all visitors to spread out. EdVenture Hartsville and Myrtle Beach do not require advance tickets, however, we suggest calling before attending, due to the limited capacity. EdVenture Columbia does encourage advance tickets, but does not require them.
  • Enhanced cleaning: New cleaning protocols include frequent disinfecting of all high-touch surfaces. Each exhibit will close temporarily throughout the day for additional cleaning.
  • Staff and Volunteer health checks: All staff, volunteers, and interns will have their temperature taken upon entry to the museum and will be required to wear a mask at all times.
  • Everyone is expected to follow social distancing requirements.
  • Face coverings are required for all visitors ages 3 and older (unless medically unable to wear a mask).
  • No outside food or drinks, except water bottles, are allowed. Exceptions are allowed for nursing or bottle-fed children.
  • If you are not feeling well, please stay home. We will gladly exchange your ticket for a day when you feel better!

What to expect at EdVenture Columbia:

  • Advance tickets are encouraged, but not required, for all visitors, including members and donors, at EdVenture Columbia. You can check availability and reserve your tickets here. (EdVenture Hartsville and Myrtle Beach DO NOT require advance tickets.)
    • Play times are limited to three hours (Guests will be asked to leave when the play session is over.) and are available at the following time blocks:
      • 9:00am-12:00pm (Block 1)
        • 12:00pm- 1:00pm (close, reset, and clean)
      • 1:00pm- 4:00pm (Block 2)
        • 4:00pm-5:00pm (end of day deep clean)
*Guests may arrive at any time during the three-hour play session. When that play session has ended, at either 12:00pm (Block 1), or 4:00pm (Block 2), guests will be asked to leave the museum.

We are adjusting some exhibit experiences to ensure your family has a safe and wonderful visit.

  • Some experiences will remain closed for your safety. Additionally, high-touch experiences and manipulatives throughout exhibits, such as the books in the Richland Library exhibit, will be closed.

We sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding and support as we get through this challenging time together.
